NON-PUBLIC TOP 5

1. Don Bosco Prep (3-3, last week #1)
Bosco enjoyed a bye after reeling off three straight wins. They return to action by welcoming Paramus Catholic to Granatell Stadium Friday night.

2. St. Joseph (Mont.) (4-2, last week #2)
QB Nick Patti went 10-of-15 for 243 yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for a score as Joe’s took down Friendship Academy (DC), 45-34. They host St. Peter’s Prep Saturday afternoon.

3. St. Peter’s Prep (5-1, last week #5)
Quarterback Johnathan Lewis rushed for five touchdowns and threw a sixth to Shayne Simon to propel the Marauders to a 48-42 victory over Bergen Catholic. They head to Montvale Saturday to battle St. Joseph (Mont.).

4. Bergen Catholic (4-2, last week #3)
Quarterback Johnny Langan threw six touchdown passes, including four in the fourth quarter, but Bergen fell to St. Peter’s Prep, 48-42. They head to Sparta Saturday to battle Pope John.

5. Paramus Catholic (5-1, last week #4)
After back-to-back wins over Pope John and St. Peter’s Prep, the Paladins took a breather on their bye. They head to Ramsey Friday night to take on Don Bosco Prep.

PUBLIC TOP 15

1. Toms River North (6-0, last week #1)
Quarterback Mike Husni accounted for five total touchdowns (3 rush, 2 pass) in the Mariners’ 41-31 victory over Jackson. They go on the road Friday for a huge showdown with Middletown South.

2. Timber Creek (5-0, last week #2)
Strong safety Dimere Kyles finished a big night with 6 tackles and a sack to help the Chargers beat Camden, 56-14. Timber Creek travels to take on Paul VI Friday night in Haddonfield.

3. Middletown South (5-0, last week #3)
The Eagles enjoyed a week off after opening their season on a five-game tear. They host Toms River North Friday in the season’s biggest matchup of public school teams thus far.

4. Ridgewood (6-0, last week #4)
A host of injuries plaguing Bergen Tech allowed the Maroons to walk away from this week with a forfeit victory. They get back to action Friday when they play host to Kennedy.

5. Westfield (6-0, last week #6)
QB Philip Martini threw a touchdown to receiver Adam McDaniel and rushed for a score, as well, to push the Blue Devils past Elizabeth, 13-7. They host Immaculata Saturday afternoon.

6. Wayne Hills (5-1, last week #7)
The Patriots were off following their 42-14 win over Pascack Valley. They host streaking Passaic Valley Friday night.

7. Manalapan (6-0, last week #8)
Running back Naim Mayfield took a toss 17 yards into the end zone for the game-sealing touchdown as the Braves took down Howell, 41-34. They host Neptune Friday night.

8. West Deptford (5-0, last week #9)
The Eagles ran for 227 yards as a team in their 41-7 win over Woodstown. They head to Haddonfield to take on the Bulldawgs Friday night.

9. Bridgewater-Raritan (6-0, last week #11)
Running back David Usewick rushed for 66 carries and a pair of touchdowns as the Panthers beat Linden, 21-0. They look for a seventh win of the season when they host Franklin Friday night.

10. Lenape (5-0, last week #12)
After a big win over Rancocas Valley, the Indians had a bye week. They return to the field Friday against Hopewell Valley.

11. Rancocas Valley (5-1, last week #14)
RB Iverson Clement rushed for three touchdowns in the Red Devils’ 35-32 victory over Winslow. They head to Lawrenceville to take on Notre Dame Friday.

12. Cherokee (3-2, last week #15)
After losing their first two games, the Chiefs have now one three straight blowouts, the latest being a 36-0 victory over Paul VI. They host Washington Township Friday.

13. Irvington (6-0, last week unranked)
Running back Alnazir Blackman churned out 284 yards and two touchdowns in the Blue Knights’ 52-25 win over Wayne Valley.  They’ll look to keep their record perfect when they go to Belleville Friday night.

14. Piscatway (4-1, last week #5)
Old Bridge running back Nick Sodano’s three fourth quarter scores helped hand Piscataway its first loss, 24-20. The Chiefs will try to get back on the winning track at Monroe Friday.

15. Shawnee (4-1, last week #10)
Dan Wigley converted Shawnee’s only touchdown in a 28-7 loss to Camden Catholic. The Renegades will try to get on track at Williamstown Friday.
