If anyone was doubting Toms River North's firepower going into the weekend, there is no way they can be anymore. The Mariners lit up the scoreboard against a very good Brick Township team, riding running back Parker Day to a huge Shore Conference A-South 62-34 victory. Day ran for 142 yards and four scores, including three in the first half. Meanwhile, quarterback Mike Husni continued his outstanding play, rushing for two scores and throwing for another. He hit receiver Darrion Carrington for a 17-yard TD, as well.

While we're on the subject of offensive firepower, one has to look no further than Roselle to see an attack that is executing at a very high level. Its 56-41 win over Johnson was the third straight instance of the Rams cracking the 45-point mark, thanks in large part to a monster passing game led by QB Gerald Hairston. Hairston (16-of-21, 349 yards, 3 TD) was connecting with wide receiver Drew Stephens all day long, overwhelming the Johnson D. Stephens caught eight passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Isiah Byrd added productivity on the ground with 174 yards and four touchdowns.

At long last, Don Bosco Prep head coach Greg Toal finally achieved his 300th career win, as the Ironman beat DePaul, 35-21. It was the fourth attempt this season for the legend, who has made previous stops at Saddle Brook, River Dell and Hackensack. Bosco QB Tommy DeVito went 21-of-32 for 243 yards and three touchdowns, and the Ironman ended the longest season-starting losing streak in Toal's history at the Ramsey parochial powerhouse.

Running back Naim Mayfield had an issue with cramping against Old Bridge, but it didn't stop him from pushing Manalapan to a 41-0 victory for the second straight week. Mayfield rushed for 186 yards and three touchdowns, spearheading a massive and unexpectedly dominant victory. Quarterback Luke Corcione passed for 182 yards and three touchdowns in the romp.

It was a, well, pleasant night for the Pleasantville Greyhounds on Friday, as they snapped a 21-game skid with a 40-14 victory over Riverside. Quarterback Le'Quai Athill had a big day, rushing for three scores and tossing two more. It was the first victory for Pleasantville since it beat Ocean City, 15-14, on Nov. 28, 2013.

Quarterback Josh Zamot was perfect for St. Augustine Prep in their 41-21 victory over Millville. The Hermits signal-caller went 11-of-11 against the Thunderbolts, throwing for 121 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for two scores and 160 yards. The Hermits were dominant on the ground as a whole, rushing for 283 yards as a team.
